In the world of sports, teams play offense and defense. Winning teams play well on both sides of the ball.
Our tools help us decide whether we are on offense or defense and how to approach the markets when it comes to managing our client’s accounts.
From the beginning, our quest has been to build our service to our clients on these simple concepts.
Burns Capital Investment Advisors Inc. uses a relative strength and sector rotation model that allows us great flexibility in our effort to focus on the strongest trends and stay away from weaker trends in the marketplace.
Focus on multiple markets and asset classes, then use our resources to see where market demand is strongest and move clients toward the stronger markets.
Disclosure:
The primary factor strategy used by BCIA is known as a momentum strategy (also known as Relative Strength). The goal of the strategy is to exceed market returns over time and provide downside protection during down periods in the markets. Like every strategy it experiences periods of underperformance when compared to the returns of the market.
The possibility of gain is accompanied by the risk of loss of principal. Many of the funds offered through ProFunds are leveraged, and some are inverse, meaning that returns, both up and down, are magnified. That magnification increases the level of volatility in accounts. For a discussion of levered and inverse funds, go to www.profunds.com/literature/.
2023 became dually registered with BMA Advisors. Mr. Burns is concurrently "dually" registered with both BCIA and BMA Advisors. This could create potential conflicts of interest and/or restrict his ability to devote the necessary professional time to effectively supervise and manage client accounts at BMA. However, Mr. Burns is intending to fully transition to BMA wherein his duties and responsibilities at BCIA will be primarily limited to winding down necessary administrative and regulatory details. Should a perceived material conflict arise, Mr. Burns has agreed to make prompt disclosure to BMA.
Burns Capital Investment Advisors, Inc. is a Registered Investment Advisor firm in the State of Oregon. Prior to advisory work conducted outside Oregon, BCIA would become registered in that jurisdiction or qualify for an exemption or exclusion to the registration.
